Birding at Arrowhead Marsh

Join  GGBA (Golden Gate Bird Alliance, our local National Audubon Chapter) and BORP-Adaptive Sports and Recreation for slow birding at Arrowhead Marsh. Due to the timing of low tide, viewing can be fabulous because of exposed mudflats -- a smorgasbord for shorebirds and a good time to look for elusive rails, including the endangered Ridgway’s Rail.  Wintering ducks abound, including the teal trifecta (Green-winged, Cinnamon, and Blue-winged).

Expect lots of stationary observing, less than half a mile of traveling on paved, level trails.  There are some benches but bring a portable chair if you have concerns. 

For birders with any level of experience. Those new to birding are encouraged to join us.

Accessible Transportation will be provided by BORP but is limited and you must pre-register. We’ll meet in front of the Ed Roberts Campus at noon and plan to be back to ERC around 5pm.
